On a purely technical note, the playlist entitled A Few Jazz Essentials is simply a place to separate the jazz that is in my Favorites list for easier access - so there is a lot of duplication until I decide to reorganize a bit! The Miscellaneous playlists are a place for overflow that will no longer fit into Favorites until YouTube decides to raise my "credit limit" so to speak! (News update! They finally did it - they will let me go over 650 in Favorites! Now back to regularly scheduled programming...) I'm still having a blast here and my hope is that you are too! Music will always be the preferred food for my soul!
On a note of the highest importance:
Just because The Cove PSA video may not be the currently featured video on this channel doesn't mean it should fall off of your radar! The struggle goes on, even after press coverage dies down! I urge you all to rent or buy the DVD of "The Cove" and to watch it with an open heart and mind! To me, how we deal with this issue says a tremendous amount about where we are morally and spiritually as human beings! Please do whatever you are able to in order to keep the pressure on for good!

Among many that come to mind - movies -- The Philadelphia Story, Fiddler On The Roof, Father Goose, The Last Waltz (the Band's final concert, and, arguably the best concert film ever made!), The Incredibles, The Odd Couple, Adam's Rib, Electric Horseman, Silver Streak, Return To Me, Men In Black, Temple Grandin, Date Night , The Cove; TV shows - The first four seasons of The West Wing, The Carol Burnett Show, NCIS, MASH, In Plain Sight, Joan of Arcadia (inexplicably cancelled after only one season!), Late, Late Show with Craig Ferguson, Castle and Huckleberry Hound (my childhood idol!)
Music:
It all started with Cream rearranging my brain wave patterns in 1967 (like I said, QUALITY!) and soon I dove into blues, jazz, folk, selected R&B(i.e. Otis Redding, Ray Charles) selected pop(i.e. Beatles. Van Morrison, CSN&Y) Oh, and Victor Borge! (trust me, check him out!)
Books:
Favorite genre: Autobiographies. Authors: Dickens, Ralph Waldo Emerson, Sarah Vowell. Late breaking news on the book front as of Fall 2010: hold on to your literary hats folks - the first volume of Mark Twain's autobiography is finally published this year - as the author requested - 100 years after his death!! For an old literature major this is like the literary second coming!! On a side note, for nitpickers and perfectionists like myself, Samuel Clemens was the man's real name!!
