DVD. I make whips, and crack them, and I keep meaning to get them. They have way

more than making crackers in them.

You are overtorqing the whip, just throwing it too hard. If your technique is right, you can just

barely throw it and get an equally loud crack, while not damaging the whip in any way shape or

form.

For a beginner a nylon whip would probably be best. It's tougher, cheaper, and

can take more a beating, which you'll inflict upon it being a beginner, not even realizing

it at the time. If you're dead set on wanting a leather whip, there's no reason not to go

ahead and get one. They're great w...

He makes this look so easy it's shocking. I've had people see videos and say " I can do that no

prob" lol...

Whips are not a torture mechanism. They may have been in the past, but

they are commonly used today for sport cracking. Cutting targets, impressive two handed

cracking, etc. They are very challenging to use and make ( I'm a whip maker myself ! )

but are very entertaining.

Why do they always have to have a british accent?

They are very similar except the color. The crusade one has a bulge right after the ring knot, and the raiders one either has a very small bulge or none, I can't tell.

Mr. Damrel constructs them the same way, just uses a different color for the overlay.

As long as you use it righ it won't get a single bit of damage to it Though the

end of it can break off right before the fall hitch, it's not too common. The only time it'll

get scuffed up or torn is if it's used on dirt, rocks, sand gravel etc. Best surfaces are

thick green(but not wet grass ...

Just as an FYI, on THIS particular whip, on Dustin Damrel's whips, the overlay IS the

only plaited portion of the whip. He uses a 1/32" cable for the very core of the whip, then he uses a series

of 5 bolsters to make up the internals. He compresses each bolster with binding, instead of plaited ...

I'd like to let you know you don't have a good whip and you won't learn good form

with that, the way you did that overhead crack was not good form. I'm not trying

to be rude, just trying to let you know so you can learn.

I have nothing against a synthetic whip, I'm jsut a big fan of leather whips,

there's more cusomization options, it's more challenging to make, but there

literally is endless possibilities with good ole kangaroo leather.

What is different from the other video on this whip?

I've finally gotten to the point where it takes me about 5 minutes to make an entire

fall. It used to take me like 20! Yay me.

They have every color you can think of. You just have to take the core strands out yourself. Then to flatten the

cord what I did when I used nylon was I'd just pull it up and down on my hook, kind of like what I do when

stretching leather, just not as hard.

Using this method, in a way, it's easier to do it in 24 plait, instead of say, 12 ,

because you don't have to worry about literally tapering the strands as they go

up.

lol, that's pretty cool, I particularly like how it can be used while turning. Could be

incorporated into some pretty neat two handed routines.

I'm don't have time yet, but I'm going to watch every second of it.

The volley can be easily done with an 8' whip, but you need to have it down first.

I suggest you use either a stockwhip, or a long handled bullwhip. It will be easier to learn it, then once you

get it on these long handled whip, you'll be able to easily do it with an 8' bullwhip. That is how I ...

@AdamCWM, Hi adam, it would be cool if you could do a video similar to this

video your 12 foot david morgan whip. I know there would probably be less

combos you could do with it, but it would still be pretty cool :)
