I prefer Les Pauls too but this is hilarious. I'm sure Hendrix and Stevie Ray both played Les Pauls before settling on their Stratocasters. Strats have more sounds (5 vs. 3) and a whammy bar -- that's why they chose them. Your premise -- that they would have sounded better playing a Les Paul -- ...

FedEx has screwed up every single delivery they've made to me in the past couple of years -- over 20 different times. They send it to the wrong address very often, or they forget to leave a door tag, or they break the item. PLEASE EVERYONE, STOP USING FEDEX!!!!!

I got mine last week and I love it!

That has to be a mid-sixties USA Epiphone Coronet (made alongside Gibsons, in Kalamazoo, Michigan) with a custom-made pickguard, added stop tailpiece and replacement humbucker (the original had a chrome "dog-ear" P-90). The giveaway is the bat-wing headstock. I had one from 1968 until about '73.

Not on MY iPod. Most of it predates Prince by 10 years or more. I'm no "hater" and like a lot of Prince's stuff. He did a decent solo on this but nothing groundbreaking or impressive at all to any seasoned lead guitarist.

OMG, I had a guitar EXACTLY like that -- an early '60s Epiphone USA Coronet. Bought it in 1969 for $99. Always thought that if you only have one pickup, a "dog-ear" P-90 is the one to have.
