I don't see PBS or NPR as biased. And I don't see what's wrong with PBS being too progressive (better to call it that than 'liberal').
We see public broadcasting as educational for all people. For example, we watch Nightly Business Report to get updated on the markets, and listen to Car Talk to get advice on car problems. You call that biased? I don't.

I do not support the federal funding of NPR because its reporting is often 'tilted", even in the choices of topic, and do not offer equal amounts of time and respect to all viewpoints, and I do not consider it to be filling a cultural void. However, I strongly support PBS because it does fill the educational void for all ages, demographics, ethnicities, and backgrounds. Perhaps the funding for PBS should not come from CPB but from the Dept. of Education instead. Are there any other programs in which the gov't funding is so minimal in comparison to the private support? But it seems necessary in order to maintain it as public, and free from commercial influence.

Some of our employes in Washington D.C., have for years have felt that PBS is too progressive and out of touch. Not that those in the media are not as guilty as some in private broadcasting for holding ideas and statements for all sides, out of touch. But I feel that most of the opponents of PBS are in it to see PBS go down the tubes,--so they can SELL the channels to private friends.

I've written to my House Representatives at Congress.org.

I've had two cups of coffee already, and that costs more than what everyone pays for NPR and PBS.
