IIRC the birth of the EFMJ bullet was for use in pistols that were finicky at feeding conventonal JHP's. The marketing was aimed, I believe, at someone with a favorite pistol that they wanted for CC but didn't want to carry actual FMJ's to maintain reliability.

What was the velocity if anyone knows? I bought a box of 130gr TTSX .308's to push through my 300 RUM just for the hell of it. Should be zipping out of the muzzle around 3800 fps (26 in barrel).
