I am a Wallace tracing back to William Wallace (the schoolmaster of Stirling, not Braveheart), but I also have Douglas ancestry 14 generations back. This song has an incredible power to move me. Everyone with Scottish ancestry owes the Black Douglas a debt for his role in the fight for freedom.
As a 12 year United States Marine with Scottish ancestry, this got to me. Thanks on behalf of all who have fallen and their families. We will never forget.
