My point is not that adding duals makes a 3/4 ton into a 1 ton, it is that there are some 3/4 ton trucks out there with duals. So your comment that krondax's neighbor can't have a 3/4 dually is not correct.

A trailer is called what it is because it "trails" behind a vehicle. With a semi-trailer (truck) not all of the trailer is behind the vehicle, so it semi trails the tow vehicle. (Some of the trailer is over the frame of the tow vehicle)

pinging is also caused from fuel starting to ignite before the ignition fires, that is why higher octane fuel will reduce pinging.
