Ancient Macedonians, Spartans, Athenians, Thebans, Corinthians, Ionians, ..... all of them together were the worldwide known as ancient Greeks.

Only some of the Greeks are the real Macedonians.
The peoples of the new country of FYROM-Skopje, that the last 15-20 years claim the ancient Greek term "ΜΑΚΕΔΟΝΙΑ", are NOT Real-Macedonians(GREEKS) like I am, they are SLAVS.

The new country of FYROM-Skopje populated undeniably from Slavic peoples that they could NOT be Macedonians. The Slavic tribes came from northern Europe at 700 AD, that is 1.000 years after Alexander the Great and 1.600 whole years after the ancient Macedonians existence!

Besides nowadays, the ancient Macedonia land is in Greece (in Real Macedonia)!
Visit Greece and you will see...
Pella(Alexander's birthplace),
Vergina(the royal Macedonian tombs where Alexander's father Philip II was buried),
Aegae(the royal capital of ancient Macedon),
Dion(the religious center of ancient Macedon at the foot of Mount Olympus),
etc. etc...

On the other hand the land of the nowadays new Slavic country(FYROM-Skopje) north of Greece that dare to claim our HELLENIC name/history/lands at ancient times called PAIONIA and NOT Macedonia.

Of course those are the percentages before Alexander's expedition because after, almost the entire ancient world was under him!

Ancient Greece wasn't just a country, but separate and self-ruled (kingdoms-cities-states-coloni es...) with COMMON ideas, language, culture, names, ways, arts, traditions, beliefs, myths, heroes, ideals and anything else defines a nation, the HELLENIC nation.

Alexander was Macedonian just like Leonidas was Spartan and Pericles-Athenian, all of them self-declared Greeks in any cause:
