I'm closing down the series early.. This is the last installment for now. This video discussed the closed thought process promoted by the cult of scientology.

(I had some sound issues today)

Now lets further examine this seemingly genocidal view of removing or deleting a vast cross section of humanity from society.

Scientologists which Ive spoken to are quick to insist that L Ron Hubbard was not advocating genocide. This counter argument is both valid and accurate, based on their view of what death is. The belief is that removing these low toned people from society would be of great benefit by preventing the contagion of their aberration from spreading. There is additional context to be considered. The text does provide one alternative to quarantining broad segments of humanity from society, which would be to permanently raise their tone through Dianetics Auditing. Taking this into consideration, there is much reason to be thankful that the Church of Scientology has not been granted the power it has been seeking. The ideal world being promoted is one in which anyone considered low on this arbitrary scale would be removed from society, unless they themselves submit to begin processed by the Church of Scientology.

Chapter 13 lists; back-stabbers, people that talk behind others backs, hypocrites, perverts, turn coats, subversives, introverts, those with low self esteem, unreliable friends, gossips, unfaithful wives and card cheats. It clearly states These people are insane, and have no honor decency or ethics. Such people should be removed from society

The chapter 21 reference specifies those that are dishonest, devious, perverts, blunt or brutally honest. It goes on to state these people should not be given more freedom in the society than the chronic psychotic, should not have any civil rights.. The only answers would be the permanent quarantine of such persons from society to avoid the contamination of their insanities.

The broadest reference is the one previously stated, from chapter 27. The sudden deletion of all individuals occupying the lower bands of the one scale would result in an almost instant rise in the cultural tone.

To have a reasonable and worthwhile social order it is only necessary to delete those who range from 2.0 down or simply quarantining them from the society. A full list is not provided. However, it does say within the text that this includes nags, critics, hypnotists, anyone who threatens of punishes others, cries for pity or lies for sympathy .. Those who are gossips, controlling, contradictory, And anyone who counters the beliefs of others.

The real question, which remains unanswered, is what would this purging of undesirables from society entail? Would they be cast out to die from starvation or exposure to the elements? Would they be locked up in some asylums for those which are seen as suppressive by the church of scientology? Or, perhaps their thetan (their soul in scientology terms) would be liberated from their physical (body?

Certainly one would think that scientologists would find this view objectionable. What of compassion, empathy or sympathy for their fellow man? Surely these things are important?

On page 8 of Advanced procedures and Axioms, By L Ron Hubbard it plainly states Everything which is wrong with him, he has selectively chosen to be wrong with him. Which may further explain why sympathy is referenced as being misemotional within the texts,

I must point out that this isnt merely sympathy which is being referenced. A full description of their usage can be found on page 44 of the same book. Sympathy can be mechanically considered as the posing of any emotion so as to be similar to the emotion of another.

On that same page it refers to their usage of sympathy, which would be empathy to the rest of us, as being between 0.9 and 0.4 on the tone scale. Which would indicate that allowing oneself to connect with another on such an emotion level is seen as being, what they would call non survival, and thus wrong.

The 11th act of clearing, as referenced on page 29 consists of running out all SYMPATHY on everyone and anything in this lifetime, across every dynamic.

In Dianetics, by L Ron Hubbard, page 534 it states;

Perhaps at some distant date only the unaberrated person will be granted civil rights before law. Perhaps the goal will be reached at some future time when only the unaberrated person can attain to and benefit from citizenship. These are desirable goals.

Yet, even in light of this, they dont see the parallel to George Orwells 1984 shown clearly within the writings of L Ron Hubbard. In this ideal world it would only be through the scientology auditing process that a person would be able to attain civil rights.

Throughout the text of Science of Survival, L Ron Hubbard advocates quarantining, removing and even deleting those which they deem to be a detriment to society. These references can be found in chapters 13, 21, 25 and 27. Here is one example;
.
The sudden deletion of all individuals occupying the lower bands of the tone scale would result in an almost instant rise in the cultural tone. To have a reasonable and worthwhile social order it is only necessary to delete those who range from 2.0 down or simply quarantining them from the society.
- L Ron Hubbard
Science of Survival (page 183)

The most common argument made by adherents in support of this stance is to reference the worst elements of society, in hopes of achieving a state of agreement with the one questioning this view.

The question quickly becomes who lies below 2.0 on this Tone Scale which they use to judge others? This belief in banishing others from society, as a whole, does not apply merely to critics and the worst of the criminal element. In fact it encompasses a broad cross section of society, anyone critical of their beliefs, and the entire field of psychiatry, as you will come to understand

many of the terms and ideas which are utilized within the Church of Scientology are particular to their group. As a result some of these concepts must first be explained, so that the subject may be better understood.

The first, and one of the most important, segments of their beliefs is what they refer to as the Tone Scale. In scientology they refer the assorted writings of L Ron Hubbard as tech, and that term will be used frequently. The comprehensive tone scale, as provided with the book Science of Survival, by L Ron Hubbard, is used to classify not merely Scientologists, but each person they come across in their daily life. It is through this apparatus that they are taught to judge those around them.

The tone scale does not merely address actions and behavior. Additional categories by which others are prejudged include physical health, sexuality, emotional state, affinity, vision, sight, speaking and listening ability, how agreeable they are, their perception of reality, their value to society, ability to handle responsibility as well as truth, memory retention, how literally minded they are, their persistence, and even their methods of handling others.

The highest value of any position in this rating scale is 4.0, and the lowest practical value is 0.0, representing death. L Ron Hubbard talks often about removing from society, without sorrow, anyone who lies below two on this scale. The following is a partial list of qualities within that range.

Flighty, poor concentration, capable of destructive and minor constructive activity, severe sporadic illness, endocrine or neurological illness, accident prone, chronically ill, expressed or unexpressed resentments, angry, fear-full or apathetic, shy, withdrawn, hate-full violent, pleas for pity, antagonistic, disagrees with others views of reality, verbal doubts, disagrees with others insecure, shame, anxiety, easily has reality of others forced on him, grief stricken, incapable, capricious, irresponsible, uses responsibility to further own ends - or to destroy, cowardly, underhanded occasionally, unreasonable bravery, immoral, dishonest blunt, devious, antagonistic, commanding, over emotional, sly, suppressive, Rape, sex as a punishment, brutal treatment of children, promiscuity, perversion, sadism, irregular practices - including homosexuality, use of children for sadistic purposes, impotency, sexual anxiety, anxiety about children, and no efforts to procreate.

Yes, there are indeed some horrible behaviors listed on their Tone scale, but many of the other categories in which they judge others represent a large portion of society. Every attempt I have made to argue the value of these ratings has been countered with an insistence that it is correct, and it works.

Scientologies REAL View toward Civil Rights (intro) 13Heathens - 765 views - 2 weeks ago
In march 2008 I was then that I heard of a strange Internet collective, known as Anonymous. I was told that the Church of Scientology was more sinister than I would have imagined, and was invited to do more research.

The horror stories appalled me, and before long I started adding my own commentary. It wasn't about the beliefs. It was about the criminal and human rights abuses of the church that L Ron Hubbard built. I found myself wondering if such abuses were merely due to corruption within the management, or drawn directly from the beliefs promoted by their founder.

The most popular counter argument of scientologists, at that time, was that the critics didn't know anything about what they believed. I'm proud to have done my part to de-mystify their beliefs, however through all my criticism there are aspects of their beliefs which I was unwilling to tie together. The strange specter of Nazi Germany would send a shiver down my spine as I read through their sacred texts. Each time I would remind myself of Godwin's Law, and question my own perception.

So I dug further and further into their material, seeking a little peace of mind. I didn't want to be right, and wanted desperately to be proven wrong. I even made a call to a high ranking member of the church's Office of Special Affairs, OSA. My hope was that they could put my mind to rest regarding this frightening aspect of their beliefs. While they were willing to discuss other matters, my pleas to provide some assurance that I had somehow misinterpreted something which was so plainly stated fell on deaf ears. My requests for clarification were ignored.

So I voiced these concerns to each Scientologist I encountered. Many of those I spoke with avoided the issue completely, and some claimed that I had taken it out of context. However they would refuse to provide any context. Others still attempt to defend this dubious view point by insisting that the removal of such people would greatly benefit society as L Ron Hubbard had indicated.

I invited others to read the texts to see if they saw what I did. Without the blinders of faith, each of them rapidly came to the same conclusions I had. This was further driven home while listening to a blogtalk radio feed from a conservative who, without being a scientologist, was using the same texts to justify his own bigotry towards liberalism.

The terrible realization was that removal of civil liberties and denial of basic human rights is not merely the result of corruption. It is a central factor in the beliefs of Scientology, as passed down by their founder, Lafayette Ronald Hubbard. The final confirmation of this was from a Scientologist who confirmed that the text, which they refer to as tech, does advocates the permanent removal of over 33 million people from society

So much for Godwin's Law, sadly the comparison was indeed valid. I wrote up a script discussing this some time ago, and even provided it to the Anonymous collective. At this time it has remained unused. I've sat idly by while members of the Church of Scientology have called critics bigots and equated them to Nazis. I've decided it is now time to bring this aspect of the core beliefs of scientology to the public awareness. The fact that this cult does not have the power to enact the measures to bring their plan to fruition is not relevant. There's one simple phrase which outweighs any argument as to whether to have this discussion or not. That phrase is "Never again".

This series will be discussing the actual source material of the Church of Scientology. The objective is to help people better understand the true nature of their views toward the basic human rights of others.

God & Abortion! (What does scripture really say?) 13Heathens - 319 views - 3 weeks ago
We hear over and over that God is against the idea of abortion. However can this view be supported by the scripture? The closest biblical reference to abortion would indicate a complete indifference to abortion. Further reading shows that God places no value on children under the age of one month. So then, where do these bible thumpers get the idea that God opposes abortion? In the bible He is either indifferent, or in some cases in favor of it!

Quantum physics proves God? Oooh come on! A response to a video by Philos71, dealing with his first argument in the video.

Notes;

Radioactive Decay
Some configurations of protons and neutrons are more stable in a nucleus than others. For instance, the carbon-12 atom is more stable than the carbon-14 atom. While carbon-12 will remain stable, carbon-14 will spontaneously transform into a more stable isotope of nitrogen, releasing particles and energy in the process. Because these transformations take place at a very steady rate, archaeologists can date carbon-based artifacts by measuring how many of the carbon-14 atoms have decayed into nitrogen. These transformations are called radioactive decay, and isotopes and elements like carbon-14 that undergo such decay are called radioactive.

An electron's spin, or intrinsic angular momentum, acts like a tiny magnet, providing one of the few outwardly detectable signs of an atom's location. An atomic nucleus can also have a spin, but because a nucleus is much heavier than an electron, its magnetic field is a thousand times smaller, making it much harder to detect.

Pagels was an outspoken critic of those he believed misrepresented the discoveries and ideas of science to promote mysticism and pseudoscience.

In his book, The Cosmic Code, Pagels wrote, "Science is not the enemy of humanity but one of the deepest expressions of the human desire to realize that vision of infinite knowledge," "Our capacity for fulfillment can come only through faith and feelings. But our capacity for survival must come from reason and knowledge." Science, he warned, is not "as resilient as commerce, religion, or politics. It needs careful nurturing." If humankind ultimately abandons science, it would be "an error that might cost us our existence."

A number of his published papers dealt with the source of the mass of elementary particles in quantum field theory, especially the Nambu-Goldstone realization of chiral symmetry breaking.

In quantum field theory (QFT) the forces between particles are mediated by other particles. The electromagnetic force between two electrons is caused by an exchange of photons. Intermediate vector bosons mediate the weak force and gluons mediate the strong force. There is currently no complete quantum theory of the remaining fundamental force, gravity, but many of the proposed theories postulate the existence of a graviton particle which mediates it.

The fottage is spaztic, sorry about that.

Well, I went back in hopes of putting some of the vague references I made during part one into somewhat better context. This occasion wasn't made of that much win, but was still amusing. I also discovered that If I lifted my thumb off the the can, ever so slightly, that the needle would fly to the far right side, and if I had my thumb on firmly it would plummet to the left on their E-Meter.

I made up some random BS to go along with the needle moves as I played with it to check how pressure variance effected the device. It turned out that even having spent his life in COS he hadn't gotten very far, which is pretty common. scientologists that are brought on full time don't have to pay for courses, so they tend to advance slowly.. As apposed to the wealthy that are put on the fast-track at great personal cost.

I have in myt hands an olf copy of L.Ron Hubbard Messiah or Madman? On the cover it hase a letter eexplaining how they hade to change the cover for legal issues and that they are facing legal persecution. This is in the 1980's. What do You know about the legal persecution of critics and does it still continue?

Making words only "the chosen" know makes others uneducated to the group, and gives one a feeling of superiority when it otherwise hasn't been earned in the society. Scientologists capitalize on this, and if you don't cave to their show they call you a suppressive person.
