I was around age 18 when I first seriously began listening to Dylan. Always a fan, but now at age 59 something has dragged me back to it all. Now I am thunder struck. He is the genius of our generation. I was in Hibbing this summer. Drove by the house.....a little magic in that town.

Springsteen covered this song if that tells you something. There is a little magic about mid 60's cool that is appealing. It is a more innocent time. All hell has not broken loose yet, but it is about to. People are dressed better and seem healthier.

Dylan is at the core of my life again. I even took a look around Hibbing a few weeks ago. It is in the middle of nowhere, and looks much the same as when Bob lived there. It birthed our generation's great genius and it feels like it too.

The 60's were an incredible decade and it is easy to be romantic about it, except that many forget that at the time the current accepted culture was extremely uptight, anti-rock and mostly very conservative coming off the 50's. Hard for those born after that time to visualize.
