@mo0s3 It is aviation tradition and rule. The ADF in general uses metric, but you'll find all aviation altitudes etc is done in feet, just as Navy uses specialist units like nautical miles and knots.

@badpanda84 They don't have this problem with existing CIWS used to protect bases. The 20mm rounds automatically detonate after they pass the target (if they miss that is), so you don't have the problem of the rounds coming down.

@Kurio71 Nope, RAAF F-111 prior to their retirement. The RNZAF never operated the F-111 and indeed currently do not operate any combat aircraft.
