These guys were certainly not obscure, they were a big group. Still, I don't think Howard Kaylan has gotten as much recognition as he should. He was a good singer, and a very good fit for this particular group with the material they were doing.

I would have thought this song would be nearly impossible to perform live, and they're still using some electronic devices like tons of echo on the voice, but overall they pulled this off very nicely. I now view this singer as a real singer, not just an Auto-Tuned studio distortion.

Nobody could replace the imcomparable Steve Winwood on this song. But having stated the obvious, this is a credible rendition. Bear in mind that it's live, too, so cut Spencer Davis some slack on that because a lot of better-known groups sound worse than this when performing live.
