Yeah - I thought I was the only one. Friedman's arrogance is a glaring weakness.
Both the analogy & the main point of the commercial are wrong. 'Raising the debt ceiling' is not the problem, the spending is. The spending is the 'hit'. Raising the debt ceiling is paying the bills. If you don't pay the drug dealer you end up dead just like the economy would be if the debt ceili...
