an xd 40 does not kick that hard. im 6 foot 1 133 pounds and every 40 cal i shoot has the same recoil as a 9mm an xd 40 has the least recoil of any 40 ive shot

9mm luger is a good round, the one and only reason i dont use it for personal protection is the penetration even with a hollow point is to deep. i prefer 40 just because they move alot slower
