Well the first thing you need to do is choose something that is really important to you or special to you. Write down some words that describe how you feel. See if you can make them rhyme or fit in a catchy rhythm. Then try singing something simple to it and start simple. Also, learn to play some basic guitar or piano. It is important to play one of them to be a song writer.
