Half the things you just mentioned are not important for the majority of the target market of these camera's, except the vari-angle screen perhaps.

Isn't it hard to get de right exposure if you use vari apperture zoomlensen? ( If you don't have a lot of time)

Why do you use the 17-55 f2.8 for portraits? What about wide angle distortion?

The closest you'll get is the 24-70 f2.8 , nothing beats prime bokey;)

You can also just turn the 7D to 720P mode

I don't agree with that. Who says that 6 year old canon's don't shoot ' awesome ' pics? Canon and Nikon are both equal. If one brand had really been better, the other would have been out of business for a very long time now. They compete very intensivly.
