Reflections Of Colorado (2004)
This is a documentary of our 2004 Colorado Trip. Join James R. Spain and Richard (Papa) Epperly as they make their way to beautiful Colorado. We welcome you to join us on an awesome journey! This ended up being one of our longest trips to Colorado. 9 Days. From July 24, 2004 to August 1, 2004. Along the way you'll travel to Trinidad, South Fork, Lake City, Silverton, Creede, Chama (New Mexico) and other awesome locations. Enjoy. About four months prior to this I just recently bought my new computer. This ended up being my first big editing job. ***Some music was changed or even omitted so there won't be a Copy Right issue. Spain Films Production - 2004
On The Road Again (2005)
- Filmed over a 9 day period. - Edited from over 6 hours of video. - Includes over 700 shots. I proudly present to you, On The Road Again. An extensive documentary of our 2005 Colorado Trip. The journey begins in Weatherford, OK. as they make their way west to South Fork, CO. Once there they meet up with family and travel to the Summetville Mines. Then it's off to Creede, CO. where they will hopefully discover gold! Lake City, Ouray, Silverton and Chama, NM. are only but highlights of a wonderful journey. I hope you enjoy. ***Now, I put this film together before You Tube was even known. The only edit I have has many Copy Righted music included. I crammed the film with movie soundtracks including Dances With Wolves, Out Of Africa, Somewhere In Time and many more. I also used many artists including Fleetwood Mac, Bruce Hornsby, Willie Nelson (Of Course) and many others. So, I decided to use music from a friend named James Anderson (Thanks again). He put this together for my next documentary, From Decade To Decade. It is wonderful music but there is only 20 min. of music to use in a documentary that is 2 hrs. and 40 min. So, it gets recycled A LOT. Its either use this or just leave it without sound. Hmmm.
From Decade To Decade (2006)
From Decade To Decade is a documentary I put together back in 2006. This is the first big project I did using my new Sony HDV camera. I think the quality shows. This year was a special year. My first trip was back in 1986 when I was only 6 years old. 2006 marked the 20th anniversary of my first trip. This year also marks the 1st year that my 3 year old son embarked on his first journey to Colorado. So, this year is special to me. The journey begins at Weatherford, OK. where James, Papa and Brendon make their way to Colorado. Along the way they pass through beautiful country. We invite you to join us. ***Composer James Anderson put together a wonderful score that fits perfectly with the documentary. You got to keep in mind that I put this together before I had knowledge of You Tube. I used a lot of Mr. Andersons music and A LOT of Copy Righted music. In the cut youre currently watching I had to use only James Andersons score. Now, he only put together around 20 minutes of music So, keep in mind that the music youre hearing had to be recycled many, many times. Spain Films Production - 2006

Whispers From Beyond - The Movie
***There are several parts of the documentary that are missing due to 'copy right' issues. The only edit I have right now is with the copy righted music included. Sorry, maybe someday I can put together a new cut.***
This play list will allow easy access to every video that has anything to do with my abandoned film, Whispers From Beyond. I think any aspiring filmmaker should check them out. It could be a good way to learn from my mistakes and maybe 'hopefully' gain some knowledge. Enjoy. James R. Spain. P.S. I know above I called this film 'abandoned' well, that's not the right word. It's 'on hold' for the moment.
The Eighth Annual Hinton Guitar Festival
On August 1 & 2, 2008 the town of Hinton, OK. held its 8th annual Hinton Guitar Festival at Red Rock Canyon. I wasn't able to film the entire show but arrived during the afternoon of August 2, 2008. I am proud to present such a talented group of musicians. Among these videos you will witness the many flavors of music ranging from folk, rock, country, bluegrass and blues. The following is highlights from an almost five hour set. Enjoy. Spain Films Production - 2008
YouTube Commentary Session
The following consists of all the YouTube commentaries filmed during November of 2007. The reason I decided to put this together is that my friend, Russell Neasbitt was planning to move away. I thought what a great send off would be for the two of us to sit down and recollect the past five years of memories. It turns out that Russell never ended up moving after all... But it was a good time putting this together. Enjoy. ***Note*** It's now September of 2009. Russell finally found his way out of town and is currently living in Shawnee Ok. Best of luck old friend. We will miss you. Spain Films Production - 2007
The Man From Tomorrow - The Movie
September of 2004 I embarked on a journey to create, The Man From Tomorrow. It was an experience. We also put together an hour long documentary of the making of the film. January of 2006 I was bored and decided to make a sequel of sorts to The Man From Tomorrow called, The Drunken Son From Tomorrow. We made the story up as we were driving to ghost mound.
The Green Screen Experience
I've been making films since I was 17 years old. Back then I had to edit my films on a VCR. Spring, 2004 I bought my first computer and was finally able to begin my editorial training from a program called, Sony Vegas. Then in 2005 I upgraded to Pinnacle Studio and finally to Avid Liquid. On all three programs there was a cool tool that allowed me to expand my story telling and to be honest with you, intrigued me. It's been a blast and I hope you enjoy this year-by-year look at what I have learned using Green Screen.
