About KLIP1220amsoulradio
Peace and Love above all else. KLIP 1220 AM Soul radio was owned by Woody Miller. One of the first in the nation. I remember listening to with my buddy Willie Bryant. KLIP 1220 AM; the 60s and 70s Fresno area radio station for Soul, Jazz , R&B, and Gospel. The AM station broadcast daily in the Greater Fresno area; circa 1970s, 1960s. Local adverts for Mello Ice Cream, Graves Upholstery, J&C House of Records, and local independent grocers. It promoted social action in the local community. The actual station was located in Fowler, California and well known by soul followers in the area. During the West Coast Relays (Fresno Relays) you could hear the station blaring over AM radios in the grandstand. My buddy Willie Bryant passed away at a young age. My goal is to memorialize & collect history of this unique time; and to continue the understanding of others through music. Willie turned me on to Gospel and we both couldn't resist the Soul. Peace be with you.
