I use a 46 year old Jeep for that kind of work. Of course, this particular Jeep is Kaiser-Jeep, a 7 ton 6x6 with a PTO winch, and chains on all 10 tires from Sept. to May..........

@jmac5058 No light truck handles plows well over time. It tears up the frame and drivetrain, period. I just laugh when I see some idiot with an > 8' blade on a one ton truck. I'm only going to run a 10' on my M35A2, and it's just a wee bit more heavy duty than a "super duty".

Kinda interesting, but not really snow chains. I can see them helping on ice, but since they don't wrap the entire tread, they're no better than a bare tire in the situations where you actually need chains. Chains aren't about ice traction; They're for chewing through snow like a paddle tire.
