With a fully synthetic oil it will not smoke once the engine is warm,once the piston ring starts to go 'off' and low down power starts to drop off (not that you would notice it on one of these) there will be a puff of smoke as the throttle is opened up leaving a corner,a very tiny hardly noticea...

Stock 2005 kx125 apart from a Fmf 'rev' front pipe and a powerblade in inlet tract.
12 or 13 tooth front sprocket and 50 tooth rear.
Engine has aside from usual piston and rings / general maintenance has all bearings and any suspect parts replaced every 90 to 100 hours,ie all gearbox bearing...

The rattle is coming from the belt tensioner,not sure why the tensioner body which is bolted to the block is moving though.
The tensioner shock absorber can go bad and placing a finger on top of it and pushing down should stop a rattle if the shock is the cause.
