Some parts were a little slow for my taste, but still an AMAZING performance. How one man could conduct the orchestra AND play that part is beyond me. Bravo, Mr. Bernstein.

My school is doing a mens choir arrangement of this, and my choir director has me hitting the high Bb at 4:09. It's intense, but it sounds awesome

I heard the PMEA All-State choir do this recently. It's a fantastic song. So simple, yet so catchy with such good harmonies. A wonderful performance! So in tune and rhythmic. Great job!

You can hear at many points that the orchestra is holding her back from playing how she really wants to. She is great, the orchestra could have rehearsed more to sound better. But still a great performance.

Guys, stop ragging on him for it being fast. It was probably just nerves. I know I end up playing fast when I get nervous. Plus, there are sections in this piece that just want to FLY when you play it.

There are two reasons that crowd should not be applauding. 1) It's the middle of the performance of an aria. Wait until the end. Also, 2) she's not singing it in the original key. And she didn't even go into the second section of it. Very weak performance.

No I don't think it's your fault. I had the sheet music in front of me, and I have played it myself before. I think it's just too complicated of an arrangement.

I feel like there is way too much going on at times. The simplicity of this song is what, in my opinion, was the best thing about it. This arrangement is just obnoxious at points. *sigh* oh well. His other stuff is very good, but he seems to have missed this one.

It might be very poorly worded and quite racist, but the arguments that they make are somewhat correct. PArticularly in my school, I see people who definitely have their priorities out of whack, speak improper english, and don't graduate. The majority of the people that are like that in my school...

Just played this today with the PMEA Region VI Band. It was one of my favorite pieces in the program. So awesome.

No matter how good some of these singers are, but I agree with most, if not all, of your points. Just because someone is a good singer doesn't mean they are doing things in their singing that aren't harmful to either their voice or our ears. They're singers, not Gods. They make mistakes too.

To quote History of the World by Mel Brooks: "Nice. Not thrilling, but nice". You play well, and the piece sounds good, but I don't quite think "amazing" is quite a word to describe it. However if you keep working, I'm sure something amazing is soon to come :)

This song is one of the earliest Christmas songs, or at least one of the most traditional. While her voice is fantastic and she sounds amazing, I feel like her stylization and sliding didn't really fit with the song.

From the looks of the video, there was plenty of space for people to go around the protesters. They didn't form into a 3 mile long string that made it impossible for anyone to pass through that line on the campus. What's the harm?
