Joe Roberts also co-wrote this song. "Skirts" had a rise to fame twice on the charts, one when it was originally written and then again about 10 -15 years later.

"Bessie Couldn't Help It" was was sung by Joe Roberts, who also played banjo on the song and co-wrote "Skirts" which rose to the top of the charts twice, in different decades I believe. Joe Roberts and all of his talent and humor passed outside of Columbus, Ohio many years ago.
