SHame its not at true tempo!!! its sped up by about 20-30 bpm i think!!! i have this problem with a few cassette rips...
one thing to do is get on soundforge or something and shift it down 3 semitones... the open strings should be D and A rather than F and C :)

basically less right hand movement, so tighter picking and no string noise... also, once you get the 'twitch' or the galloping flick up to speed it makes for a lot easier work, i can gallop at 250bpm maybe more with...
