@gloude96 sorry to say but I think they were referencing the armor, and weaponry. Gondor has armor that is at least made of iron if not steel. Also the style if the armor of Gondor is distinctly medieval. As well as both Rohan and Gondor's weaponry seem to be made of iron or steel.
