Under Greg Niemeyer, Professor of Art Practice and Film Studies and Executive Committee Member of the Center for New Media at the University of California at Berkeley, I am an organizer for 070707 Elements of Chance. I am also a Ph.D. student in the Department of Rhetoric and Film Studies and the Center for New Media at UC Berkeley. My current research centers around the construction of an analytical framework for the aesthetics of digitality. I take as my primary examples works of generative art, information visualization, locative media/psychogeography, and software art, and make reference to direct or notional art historical precedents to each of these modes of digital representation.
