(Cont.) The MKVI and Balanced Action are not cheap horns. A good MKVI will run up to or over 10,000. If you want a horn that plays like a MKVI without the price tag, do some digging, and check out Randy Jone's custom horns.

It might have been easier to do this in the original key. Then you would have gotten a nice dark tone from the Tenor's low D in the unisons.

Your tone is great, and so are your ideas, but make sure to keep the breath support up in the upper register, so it doesn't go flat =P

The optimum is going to have a lot more consistency to it... Tuning throughout the range, dynamics throughout. You won't have any notes that are randomly louder/softer sharper/flatter anywhere. It's also a much much darker sound. Having played both the C* and AL3, I personally recommend the AL3.
