I started uploading these videos because, like so many others, I have rediscovered the joys of vinyl as opposed to the cold and impersonal world of mp3's and downloaded music.
Don't get me wrong. I still download new music from itunes and enjoy it. However, there is something about actually holding a piece of music in your hands, looking at the picture sleeve or album cover as the music is playing, and hearing the smooth natural tones that come from the record that seems far superior to an mp3 that you can never see.
I was inspired to fix up my old pioneer turntable and dig out my records after discovering the channel WABCRADIO77. Check him out. His collection is awe inspiring!
I've also started keeping an eye on ebay etc for 'new' records that I have never had but always wanted ... loads of fun!
I hope you enjoy the music I upload. Of course, everyone has different tastes, so hopefully there will be something for everyone!
I record the music directly from my stereo system to my computer (with no alterations to it whatsoever) at the same time that I do the video using my camcorder. I then use video editing software to sync the sound and video together and then upload the finished product. That's the best way I know to get the truest sound possible while eventually having to change it to a digital signal for You Tube. I wish there was a way to do it without having to end up with a digital signal, but the only way to do that is to invite you all over to listen in person and my rec room simply isn't big enough!
