L'hirondelle et la corneille disputaient de leur beauté. Aux raisons de l'hirondelle la corneille répliqua : «Ta beauté ne fleurit que pendant la saison du printemps, tandis que moi, j'ai un corps qui défie même l'hiver.» Cette fable montre qu'il vaut mieux prolonger sa vie que d'être beau.

Sur une chanson que j'ai produite, un "mash-up" combinant mes propres images à celles d'Ivan Cortazar Frias extraites de sa vidéo intitulée Encantamento ( téléchargeable sur www.ingenio400.com). J'ai voulu ainsi obtenir une tonalité lugubre teintée d'ironie.

According to the mythologized version of Taliesin's birth, he began life as boy named Gwion Bach, a servant to the old crone Ceridwen. Ceridwen had a beautiful daughter and an ugly son named Morfran (also called Avagddu), whose appearance no magic could cure, so she sought to give him the gift of wisdom as compensation. Using a magical cauldron, Ceridwen cooked a potion granting wisdom, which had to be cooked for a year and a day. A blind man named Morda tended the fire beneath the cauldron, while Gwion Bach stirred the concoction. The first three drops of liquid from this cauldron gave wisdom; the rest was a fatal poison. Three hot drops spilled onto Gwion's hand as he stirred, burning him. He instinctively put his hand in his mouth, and instantly gained great wisdom and knowledge. The first thought that occurred to him was that Ceridwen would be very angry at him for doing this. Scared, he ran away, but all too soon he heard her fury and the sound of her pursuit.

As Ceridwen chased Gwion, he turned himself into a rabbit. In return, she became a dog. He then became a fish and jumped into a river, and in response, she then turned into an otter. He turned into a bird, and in response she became a hawk. Finally, he turned into a single grain of corn. She became a hen and ate him, and became pregnant. She resolved to kill the child, knowing it was Gwion, but after he was born, he was so beautiful that she couldn't go through with the deed. Instead, she threw him in the ocean inside a leather bag. The story of Gwion and the wisdom potion bears a strong resemblance to the Irish tale of Fionn mac Cumhail and the salmon of wisdom, indicating that both stories may have a common source.


Tegid Voel (le « chauve ») vit au Pays de Galles sous le règne dArthur, sa femme sappelle Ceridwenn, elle est experte en magie, divination et sorcellerie. Ils ont un fils hideux et au comportement odieux, nommé Morvran mais que lon surnomme Avangddu (cest-à-dire le Monstre Noir, à cause de la couleur de sa peau) ils ont aussi une fille Creirfyw, la plus belle de cette lépoque. Le fils est rejeté par tous et pour quil soit accepté, sa mère décide de lui donner le don de linspiration prophétique. Pour ce faire, il lui faut des plantes ramassées à des moments précis, puis les mettre dans un chaudron empli deau et faire bouillir la mixture pendant un an et un jour. Après ce délais, on obtient trois gouttes qui rendent savant et devin celui ou celle sur qui elles tombent. Le reste du bouillon est un puissant poison. Un vieil aveugle, dont nous ignorons le nom, est chargé de surveiller le chaudron, il a un guide nommé Gwion Bach qui soccupe du feu sous le chaudron, Ceridwenn maintient le niveau de leau. Le fils monstrueux est placé près du chaudron, pour recevoir les trois gouttes quand le moment sera venu. Alors que la mère sest endormie, les gouttes sautent et tombent sur Gwion Bach qui prend prestement la place de Morvran. Le chaudron explose sous leffet du poison, Ceridwenn se réveille et Gwion Bach devine instantanément quelle va décider de le tuer. Il senfuit en prenant lapparence dun lièvre. Cest lépisode de différentes métamorphoses : un saumon bleu, un chien, un cerf, un chevreuil, une borne, une corde, une hache, etc. Dans la poursuite, Ceridwenn se transforme autant de fois. Dans une grange, il se transforme en grain de blé, Ceridwenn prend lapparence dune poule noire, elle avale le grain de blé et quelque temps plus tard, donne naissance à Gwion Bach. Ne pouvant se résoudre à le tuer, elle installe lenfant dans un coracle et labandonne sur la mer.
