I had the Union plus card and it was just canceled after ten years of membership. They said that since I held a zero balance that they didn't need me as a customer anymore, and that I was encouraged to reapply (at a higher rate of course). Little did I know that this can put a negative mark on your credit report. So thanks union plus (and to be fair HSBC). How this is legal I have no idea.
