This is a comprehensive DVD covering all 5 revenue passenger excursions in 2009 by Reading and Northern (formerly Blue Mountain and Reading) 4-6-2 #425. It includes the full versions of all my YouTube videos, plus a significant amount of footage never before seen. Included trips are:
October 18th 2008 - Port Clinton to Jim Thorpe May 16th 2009 - Tunkhannock to Jim Thorpe September 6th 2009 - Pittston to Jim Thorpe October 10th 2009 - Port Clinton to Jim Thorpe October 17th 2009 - Port Clinton to Jim Thorpe October 18th 2009 - Port Clinton to Jim Thorpe
It also includes Steamtown's 2009 Tobyhanna Ice Harvest train with ex-Canadian National 2-8-2 #3254
All footage was recorded digitally in standard definition widescreen or in 1080i HD. There is no distracting music or narration; just well-filmed and well-edited clips of one the loudest and hardest working steam locomotives in the country today. This is a standard definition DVD-R in 4:3 format and should be compatible with any DVD player.

This DVD covers the excursions C&O 614 ran on New Jersey Transit in 1997 and 1998. After working on this project periodically for the past few months, I recently finished digitizing all my old VHS videos and created this comprehensive DVD. If you've seen any of my 614 videos, you know how spectacular these trips were, and how increasingly rare this type of mainline steam action is now. We see 614 pull 20+ car passenger trains unassisted at speeds up to 79mph on the former Erie RR mainline between Hoboken NJ and Port Jervis NY. This DVD features plenty of pacing (with some incredibly close shots of the locomotive) and many, many high speed runbys with unbelievable stack talk.
While Mark I Video's "Return of a Thoroughbred" covers the October 1996 trips in incredible detail, seemingly little video exists of the 1997 and 1998 trips. The quality of my video isn't as good as Mark I (they had much better equipment, and I'm by no means a professional), but the action is unparalleled on this DVD, especially the pacing scenes on Route 17 in New York.
This DVD consists of all my 614 videos on YouTube in higher quality, plus lots of extra footage and deleted scenes not available online. Most shots are handheld and as I said before, all the footage is originally from VHS tapes, so the quality isn't exactly what we've become accustomed to with today's digital video and high-definition productions. Nonetheless, the video quality is still quite respectable and the action is unparalleled. There is no distracting music or narration; just well-filmed and well-edited clips of 614 at work. This is a standard definition DVD-R in 4:3 format and should be compatible with any DVD player.
This DVD is available now for $15.00 (with free shipping).
