i've just joined youtube but have been watching your videos for over a year. hedges has been an inspiration to me. his style, ability, versatility and passion are unmatched. i just wish i'd seen him play live. p.s could you give me some info about Ursa Major as i've only heard it once. thanks again for introducing me to the greatest acoustic guitarist of all time.

Michael Hedges has completely changed my life. I wasn't a confident guitarist feeling unique enough to really shine until I saw all his videos, which have inspired me so much that I'm inventing and developing new techniques, finally happy with myself :D

I met Michael at the Oregon Country Fair in 1983 when he came up to me after one of my One Man Band performances and gave me his just released first album. I couldn't believe my ears when listening to it later. And that he even had bothered to my rater modest musical achievements. But we became friends and he later invited me to record my first album in his studio in Mendocino for free. He was so generous and humble, and yet one of the most talented musicians and powerful performers I ever saw. We lost touch after I left North-America in the late 80s but his spirit is around. I'm very grateful to re-live some of it through these great videos. Thank you so much.

Thanks for sharing. The beauty of Michael's music will live forever. Soon after his passing someone sent me a video of the Somerville Theater show. The beauty of YouTube is that so many can now share.
