Music, Computers, learning languages, and Photograpy are my hobbies. Self-taught. Basically I've chosen hobbies that take a lot of time...I mean A LOT.

I.
I started playing the guitar when I was a junior in university. I mess around on the piano now and then. I used to play the Erhu (Chinese Violin) in the ethnomusicology class at UCLA and we had to perform in front of a live audience of over 300 people with cameramen from local chinese TV stations. That was our final exam. We all dressed in traditional chinese outfits. I play the chinese flute too a little. I wish I had more time to tab down all the guitar and piano arrangements I have made in my head, but I don't. I don't read music...cuz I suck at it but I can very slowly that is. I have 2 little kids, a 2 1/2 year-old and a 6 month-old. I only have time to play music in the morning before I go to work...from 4am to 6am. So please don't rush me about tabs...I will post them whenever they are done.

II.
As for languages, my first is cantonese, second English which I speak the most cuz I grew up in the US, third Japanese cuz my wife is from Japan and I work in Japan, fourth French - I studied in college but I forgot a lot, and last is Mandarin...I am awful at it but I can understand a little and speak a little. I should be speaking Japanese a lot better than I do but because I'm so busy with my other hobbies, I have no time for classes. At UCLA I took one year of Beginning Japanese and that's it. Basically self-taught after that.

III.
I majored in computer science and engineering at UCLA back in 2001. I have a B.S. degree in the field. Recently I got into web application development and now I'm developing a new online application for myself and my partner trying to start up our own company. This also adds to my busy schedule since I am the sole programmer for this project.

IV.
I just bought a digital SLR camera - The new Nikon D300... $2800 for the camera body, a 18mm-200mm F3.5-5.6 superzoom lens and a Sigma 51-guide # Flash. I have always had interest in photography but just got into it recently. I will be getting a webhost soon and post all my photos there, so be sure to check them out.
