Local hero Tom, the Khon Kaen Cocker Spaniel, made his diving comeback last weekend against rival Maloo in the spectacular finals of the 114th World Dog Diving Championship, held this year in Khon Kaen. Yui and I visit downtown Khon Kaen where on Chinese New Year the local people are playing action movies for the god spirit "Jow Pah" in an outdoor theater. Jow pah loves to watch action movies and many locals believe that if he has given them good luck, they must pay him back by showing the movies.
