This song is related to Ottoman shahzadas(prince) who were put into a room called cage to prevent their possible deaths till the day they become Sultan(king). However most of them got murdered. Fratricide was common in the "stagnation" period of Ottoman Empire. the most cruel sultan was Selim I.(Selim the terrible), he ordered the assasination of his 3 brothers and 2 cousins as he become sultan.
