I am a recovering ex-christian who is concerned with the environment and the urgent need for coherent global governance.

I am deeply conscious that we are engaged in a global debate as a global people about how we want our world to be. I want to be heard, and I want to listen.

Most of all I want all humans to be considered part of the same ingroup, subject to the same laws, agreed among global citizens, fairly applied. This is the logical trend of a planetary human society.

To leverage the golden rule, applied for the first time to ALL humans equally.

These aspirational virtues will however, not preclude me from calling you a fuckwit, engaging in some outgroup demonisation myself, and generally behaving in a way I despise, when sufficiently provoked. Alas ones head has this relentless tendency to creep quietly up ones arse, if one is not paying adequate attention.

	Tridhos has done a good job of rebutting the absurdity of most of the rest of your comments, but I would like to add this. There is NO difference between Stalin and any Pope prior to the 16th century. They all killed for power, using some unifying cause to cement their power base. The Popes used Christianity, Stalin the "freedumb" of the people. Atheism was incidental to Stalin, while Jesus woo was CENTRAL to the Popes. See the difference? (13 hours ago)

	So thats your defence is it? No atheists have been crucified by believers? Heres me taking your comment in the broader context of atheist persecution and murder through the ages. 	TheModestAgnostic \| July 28, 2008 That video I consider the distraction, a wild hodge podge of hysteria and speculation. Is there not enough horrific stuff happening right before our eyes, that we need to make stuff up? There is no conspiracy to take over the world, there is a US effort to maintain the status quo of WWII, but this is quite open. The only solution to our problems is a democratically elected global parliament, and there will be plenty of nutjobs, ultra nationalists and religious fundamentalists that object even to that.

What consenting adults to in the privacy of their own homes is their business, and so I do frequently comment on gay bigotry where I see it.
