About Me:

I got my start in the studios at Capitol Records in Hollywood, where I worked with a wide variety of artists, including The Steve Miller Band (my first gold album/single: "Abracadbra"), Tina Turner, Maze featuring Frankie Beverly, Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band. After 9 years in the studio, I was offered a staff producer position in A&R and continued to work with my clients, as well as be the in-house fix-it guy. It was then that I co-produced Seger's "Like A Rock" and the debut album for Richard Marx. Irving Azoff offered me a similar position at MCA at a time when I was looking to broaden my horizons. I later went freelance and have enjoyed working with a broad spectrum of artists in many genres of music and film: rock, pop, latin, alternative, Christian, jazz, and new age. Due to my broad background and experience, one of my favorite clients describes me as bringing "the X factor" to a project: quietly offering up whatever it needs without ego or agenda. I thought that was a pretty cool compliment. But enough about me... what do YOU think about me? When it comes to gear, everyone's got "gear". It's what you do with it that matters. That's what has me excited about this brave new world we live in and the possibilities are endless. I came up "old school", recording real musicians in a room, playing together, and recording to tape. But have adapted along the way to now recording almost entirely in the digital domain. I have kept my instincts intact however, and always strive for the "goosebump factor". Check out my discography to see the list of Gold and Platinum projects I've worked on. I look forward to discussing your next project. Although I have been lucky to work with many world-class artists, I particularly enjoy being in the underdog position with people who have a point to prove. Feel free to contact me if you think we can make some music together.
