yeah it does when need to remove.
remove comfort access door handles on BMW before wrapping.
This short video of removing door handle. this illustration was done on BMW but it should be the same for most doors.

its a little tricky putting it back on. you have to pull the spring loaded level inside and then slide the handle in. Must be at the same time. it is harder, but if you cannot do it that way then you gonna have to remove the door panel.

no, as long as your paint is not rusted or chipped. ding will show thru. the vinyl is only 3.5 mil thick. just like paint.
