News Update March 2009 - My book - Using Hexagons in Patchwork by Jackie Wills is now available £8.99 plus p/p - buy from www.patchworktemplates.com. 50 pages - 140 colour images. Includes patterns for Christmas Quilt, The Happiness Quilt, Fibonacci Elgin, Nautical Sailor, The Black Hole and Tampa to Suttons Island. If you enjoy these video clips you may like this book.

I began working professionally with textiles in 1984 - my first commission was a small cushion cover for the window display of Charles Hammond in Sloane Street, London. Subsequently I worked for a small interior design company in Walton Street. After many adventures I started my own studio my home town in 1991.

Patchwork Paper Templates

I have been selling patchwork paper templates on www.patchworktemplates.com, Ebay, Tazbar and Specialist Auctions.com (sellers name Thejaxcollection) for over four years. During this time my range has expanded according to customer demand.

I offer a friendly, efficient and quality service proven by many return customers. Always happy to listen to your specific requirements and happy to create custom orders for your convenient purchase.

Since I was about 12 years old I have been a passionate hand sewer of hexagons - (the traditional English method over papers) over the years I have designed and sewn together in excess of 12 large wall hangings (each having about 3000 hexagons) and numerous smaller projects. I used to spend a great deal of time travelling on trains, coaches and planes - and having my patchwork tin with me stopped me going bored witless - if that is an expression!

So often, when teaching and travelling I heard people complaining about cutting the fiddly papers. So I decided to put together a range of Hexagon, Octagon, Diamond, Square Paper Templates in a variety of quantities, sizes and packs. I have recently included Fibonacci Hexagon Patchwork Templates - and now the ;Beautiful Design based on an Islamic pattern - if you are curious about this method - if you are curious more information on my website www.jackiewills.co.uk

Set yourself a challenge by handsewing hexagons together - This rewarding stress busting pastime will absorb hours of your time - whilst the end result will be your future family heirlooms - ideal to do sitting in front of the TV - take travelling - or whilst convalescing.

Waistcoats

My first waistcoat was sold at Cockington Court in 1991. Since then I have sold in excess of 700 unique and beautifully crafted garments. Many of these garments have been sold at Brigid Foleys' long established designer shop in Tavistock. Many others were sold over a number of years at the Exeter Festival - other sales have been generated by word and mouth and repeat custom.

Over the last few years I have concentrated my efforts on internet selling. Whilst there are certain advantages e.g worldwide audience, detailed images and information can be exchanged before purchase and customers can buy from the comfort of their own home - there are some disadvantages e.g: you cannot feel the texture, and quality of the garment neither can you stand in front of a mirror to see how fabulous you look wearing the garment. Correct size is obviously very very important - over the years I have kept to simple styles that are flexible by way of no front fastenings and are not fitted.

To save time and disappointment in the fitting department - waistcoat descriptions show many different measurements. It is recommended that you check these measurements against your body to avoid disappointment. Perhaps get a friend to help you. If you need further measurements or clarification please do not hesitate to contact me.

Commissions

I can create more or less any theme and more or less any size to suit you. For a small fee (£5.00) my commission service includes a cotton toile that I send you before I make the garment.. I love design challenges - tell me your ideas and I will create your waistcoat!
