Taken from their debut record, the song "Dirty White Coats" is a rumination on doctors, pain, suffering and the state of the healthcare system. Another in the series of films created by artist Monte Krause in response to the debut record from The Flying Change. This film comes from Monte Krause who conceived, directed and edited the film and incorporates some of his own personal experiences fighting cancer over the first half of the year. A deeply personal reflection on redemption and recovery.
Director Monte Krause, re-rendered and re-cut the video for this Director's Cut version to more fully reflect the artistic premise and articulate his vision.

The Flying Change's Pain Is a Reliable Signal is a troubled tale that touches on the familiar themes of love, loss and reckoning. Written by songwriter Sam Jacobs and coaxed to life by producer Paul Brill, the album's ten songs underscore the ongoing series of health issues that hijacked Sam's wife and their family beginning in 2004; a lonely pinball journey through unyielding institutions, staffed by careless doctors and faceless bureaucrats, and, ultimately, back again. Dubbed "landscape pop", the songs couple broken grasping lyrics with rich, earthen soundscapes and hook-laden melodies, and feature performances by a host of heralded musicians from the New York music scene.
