Living in DC during the 80's-90's was one of those magic moments like living in New York in the 50's, or San Francisco during the early 60's, or even in 19th century Paris. Music that came out of that soil (Dischord and otherwise) was exciting, communal, important (politically and personally), and somehow bigger than anyone really noticed at the time. I hope these video offerings are a reminder of how special it was. And make sure to check out other peoples' DC offerings, there is some good stuff floating around.
