Spadina Museum: Historic House & Gardens

Spadina Museum has strived to reflect the narrative of the historic mansion and its vibrant residents ever since the Austin Family made their initial donation to the city in 1982, which included the building, furniture, artwork and most of their personal belongings.

When Spadina Museum first opened its doors, the displayed collections and restored interior spaces represented a compilation of several generations worth of priceless family artefacts. The museum became a celebrated and critically lauded landmark whose importance is embraced today by history, culture and arts fans from Toronto and beyond.

Spadina Museum is currently undergoing a restoration to reflect the inter-war era, with a focus on the 1920s. The restoration will offer visitors a chance to return to this fascinating era and to the prestigious home of the Austin Family as it was during this time.

The following videos feature footage related to the restoration, interview commentary and special event coverage of all the great 1920s programming currently taking place.

The museum is closed to the public as it prepares for its roaring re-opening in the fall of 2010.

Toronto Challenge

The Toronto Challenge is the City's premier fundraising event for seniors. Thousands of participants join the 5k Run, 5K Walk and 1K Walk to raise money for Toronto Long-Term Care Homes and Services and community programs that contribute to independent living and home support.

This video highlights the June 14, 2009 event.

The Toronto Challenge is a family event suitable for all ages and levels. Family pricing, prizes, displays, a barbeque and activities make the event fun for everyone.

You can take the challenge and participate by becoming an event sponsor; running or walking on race day, pledging support to a participant or volunteering your time.
