The campaign against living miserably (CALM) was launched as a charity in March 2006. CALM is aimed at men aged between 15 and 35. CALM offers young men a website, with information about a range of issues including drugs, relationships and debt.

CALM also offers information and advice via a phone and web chat where you can talk confidentially and anonymously to an adviser. Anyone, regardless of age, gender or geographic location can call the line and visit the website, we are happy to help anyone, we do not turn people away. Our website can be seen at www.thecalmzone.net

Why do we exist? Because suicide accounts for the deaths of more young men, aged 15-35, than murder or drugs or AIDs or cancer. According to provisional 2008 stats, it has now overtaken road death as the biggest cause of death of young men. We want to change that.
