"Bashing trains in the North West, and beyond!"

I am David Hennessey, aka The Amateur Basher, a motley rail enthusiast from the North West of England (St Helens in Merseyside to be precise, and not far from Liverpool).

I follow all kinds of locomotive going, whether it be steam, diesel and electric. My favourite locos include 40145, 55022 Royal Scots Grey, 6233 Duchess of Sutherland, 6201 Princess Elizabeth and 4472 Flying Scotsman, plus many more!

I also dabble in the narrow gauge and model railway fields from time to time.
