I used to be a Vovalist when I was young.. Back in Highschool, I was one of the Vocalists of the band BLIND CORNER.. After highschool, I searched for Masters and Influences.. I met Archie Uy, a very good Musician and one of my Mentors, got connected with a lot of his kind.. One of them is Rommel dela Cruz, the Bassist of Barbie's Cradle.. I was so into Bass Playing and Weather Report back then that Rommel was my One living Proof that Jaco Pastorius existed..
Without a band, I joined the Church Band back in 2004, where I played the Bass and played for God..
In 2005, I was recruited by DAYHIKE DILAT, a reggae band from Cainta, Rizal.. It was here that I had my real exposure to live playing.. We played in parties and on Sundays, at Mayrick's, Espana..
When I moved back to California, I met Roberto Tinoco Duran, a poet from San Jose, and I played Bass for his Music Poetry..
I left the band to seek some Filipino Musicians.. It took me a while. That's how my videos were created.. I make some beats, and tunes, and Jam with it with my Bass. This stood as my practice.. And I had some of them on Video..
Then I found a Pinoy Metal Band seeking a bassist, so I contacted them and started jamming with them. The drummer, Arnold Dalisay was from Sunnyvale and Edmund Elizalde, the Guitarist, from Union City. Gradually, our music evolved into a Variety Band when we recruited Sheena Antolin and Joven Baltazar..
Now, playing in a Variety Band, I learned how to play steady and memorize tunes.. Because my preferred playing style doesn't really give much practice on playing steady notes..
I still am trying to unlock the secrets of Bass Playing, and I am willing to teach anyone who wants to learn, because after all, I have to pass down the knowledge that was passed on to me..
