I met Landis when he branched out from his home church (Mount Herald Missionary Baptist Church I believe?) to start a church with Mission Gate Prison Ministry, downtown on the north side of Saint Louis in the old Salvation Army church building in the 1400 block of Sullivan. It was in the middle of a Friday night and into the early morning hours of Saturday, as I was called on to help transport pews across the north side of downtown Saint Louis from a storage building to the church (the church that had just left the building took the pews with them), so he could start the church.
