Well, it's getting closer to the 4th of July when I'm due to BBQ for about 200 wounded soldiers at the USO Warrior Center in Landstuhl, Germany and fund raising is a bit slow. The USO has opened the new USO Warrior Center at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center (LRMC), Germany, the largest American hospital outside of the United States. LRMC serves as the primary medical treatment center for the more than 31,000 casualties injured during Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan and Operation Iraqi Freedom.

The 2,400 square-foot facility will offer free telephone access, an Internet café with computer workstations and Wi-Fi hot spot to allow our wounded men and women in uniform to stay connected to their loved ones while recovering. The entertainment lounge with large screen plasma television, DVD player and video gaming consoles will allow troops to enjoy their downtime. The living room area features reclining sofa and chairs, offering a comfortable place for service members to relax. The full kitchen and multipurpose room will support special events and activities.
