Standard Banner Ads
How Banner Ads Work
YouTube standard banners run across all areas of the site and are available in two dimensions: the Large Rectangle (300x250) and the Wide Skyscraper (160x600).
We accept multiple formats, from standard Flash or static images to rich media from one of our approved vendors (accepted in limited placements). Please refer to our rich media specifications for more information.
Creative Submission
Submissions should include advertiser and agency, IO number, campaign name, and detailed trafficking instructions.
Turnaround Time
Assets for these units should be received by YouTube no later than FOUR business days prior to campaign start date and sent to both Account Coordinator and Media Coordinator.

Technical Specifications
- Dimensions accepted: 300x250 pixels
- Formats accepted: JPG, GIF, SWF
- Flash versions accepted: 5/6/7/8/9
- Maximum Flash frame rate: 20 FPS
- Maximum file size (SWF): 50 KB
- Maximum file size (JPG/GIF): 30 KB
- Maximum animation: 15 seconds
Approved Third-Party Vendors
We will accept third-party served tags from the following vendors: Atlas, EyeBlaster, EyeReturn, EyeWonder, Motif (Klipmart) and PointRoll.
Tracking Elements
- Can be third-party served.
- Third-party click tracking is accepted.
- Third-party tracking pixels are not accepted.

We really, really want your banners to click through. Please help us by setting up your click tag in this fashion.

| 3. Using the Rectangle Tool, draw a rectangle that encompasses the entire area of the ad. | ![]() |
| 4. Using the Selection Tool, double-click on the rectangle, then right-click and select Convert to Symbol. | ![]() |
| 5. Name the symbol "button" and choose the Button behavior. | ![]() |
| 6. Double-click on the rectangle again to edit it and drag the "Up" keyframe to the "Hit" frame. Return to the main movie - scene 1. | ![]() |
| 7. Select your button and locate the actions panel. If this is not open, select Window > Actions. Should say "Actions - button" at the top of the panel. | ![]() |
