UFO film sxi - 11,513 views - 3 years ago
Was a 13 minute tape, and was shot using a Sony with 8 mm tape. One large object, one small object also appeared for a few minutes. The smaller object went from one side, over to the opposite side. Unfortunately, that is not in this rough cut-out version. The original was 100 mb uncompressed, and that is why it was shortened. An alternative is to compress the whole thing, but it has not yet been done. a man was up two hours before dawn, and turned on the tv. A bright light entered the room from outside the window. He woke his wife, and picked up the camera. she picked up a pair of binoculars. They are hispanic, living on the western edge of el paso county. They called the tv station, which never aired the video. The area is within some 15 miles of the western perimeter of the U.S. army's Fort Bliss. Venus was rising in the southeast, but only achieved 5 degrees elevation by the end of the video. Nor was the moon visible at that time, from that location. That said, it sure looks like Venus, except for the second object coming and going. The couple reported that they both looked just with their eyes at the small object, and that it was not a reflection. The larger object moved, but that is not conveyed in this clip. Nor is the end of the sighting known, as that has not been related. It would be important to know. Similar videos have occured in Australia, one a few days later in Queensland. These may or not be simple astronomical objects.

Egress of Venus sxi - 1,542 views - 3 years ago
This movie shows the egress of Venus from the solar disk. The shivering and occasional fuzziness is due to turbulence in the Earth's atmosphere. Swedish 1-m Solar Telescope on La Palma. 8 June 2004.

Comparing G-band and Magnetogram Images of a Sunspot sxi - 2,447 views - 3 years ago
G-band (430 nm) image, then blinks between it and the simultaneous magnetogram to show the alignment of sunspot structures and the magnetic field down to scales of 150 km. A magnetogram is an image of the magnetic field of the Sun taken in a spectral line of iron (Fe) at about 630 nm. Positive polarity magnetic fields show up as white structures in the images, negative polarity fields show up as black, and gray areas are regions of low field strength. The magnetogram reveals magnetic structures as small as 150 km in size and about 0.15 Tesla in field strength. It confirms that the bright faculae seen in the G-band image are exactly aligned with the magnetic fields. Dark gaps in the facular brightenings correspond exactly to gaps of decreased magnetic field in the magnetogram. This image is the highest resolution magnetogram ever measured near the solar limb.
