That's not the point of the show, and that the wrong attitude to take towards these events. Those aircraft are priceless as are the pilots that fly them. This could have so easily been much worse. It's a terrible thing to lose a warbird like that :(

Am i right in thinkin wht it actually does is effectively triple the dmg u can take in 1 hit?
If you only take 35% of a hit (call it 1/3rd) then u mitigate 2/3rds of the damage so if you have 30k HP, you can survive up to 1 90k hit (ish) I'm just rounding for ease of understanding here...
