That one small, powerful verse relates exactly what Submerged is all about. Three years of hard work, frustration, patience, trials and triumphs, have made the band what they are today. Standing strong in their faith, they try to live their lives for God and set an example for others.

In 2008, Submerged recorded their debut album, "Don't Hide." Unlike most bands, they were not going to settle for a couple "radio worthy" hits and lackluster album tracks. Singer/guitarist/songwriter, Caitlin Shea, poured stories and emotions into each and every track, producing a strong album full of faith, love, and emotion. And having Grammy nominated, Dove Award winner Ben Kasica of Skillet co-writing and producing the album, and Nick Radovanovic of Acceptance engineering and mixing it, their dream became a reality that they were immensely satisfied and blessed with. The album rolled out with a perfect mix of songs, ranging from the guitar heavy rock of "Don't Hide" to the chilling ballad of "The Beating Of A Heart."

"Working with Ben and Nick Rad at Skies Fall was really a great learning process. It was exactly what we needed, and I'm so proud of how the album turned out," says Caitlin. "Each song on the album is a story about what I've gone through or what I've witnessed in my friends' lives. And in the recording process, all those stories and emotions came together perfectly."

And because each story came from the heart, the songs are relatable, and about things in life that everyone goes through. Take for instance, "A Love Like No Other." Beautifully describing the pain and heartache of a relationship gone bad, but finding unconditional and healing love in God, the song hits home with all generations. Songs like "Take Back" and "Who I Used To Be" evoke the feelings of being beat down and being held to a past that you've changed and grown from, as so many teens today face. "Essential" expresses the never ending need for the Lord, while "Silence" poetically discusses the hard trials we all go through.

"It means so much when someone comes up to me, or writes to us, saying how our music has touched them in some way, and how they relate to the songs and how it's helped them through a hard time. Not much tops that feeling," Caitlin states. "My desire is to touch lives. I know for myself, meeting the musicians in my favorite bands has been an amazing experience, and that they've touched my life in some way... whether they realize it or not. I want to share that feeling."

The band has been truly blessed with their acquaintances in the music industry. From Chris of Sanctus Real simply leaving a message encouraging their music, to Alyssa and Rebecca Barlow's advice given after a concert, to Josh from Decyfer Down taking the time to share some knowledge, Submerged has experienced kindness and support from other artists and hope to pass it on.

Now looking towards the road ahead, they are gearing up for their sophomore album. Currently in the process of writing all new material, the band hopes to put together an even stronger second record. But in the mean time, they keep busy booking and touring throughout the year.

With passion for music and God, Submerged is ready for anything and will follow His lead, looking forward to the long journey ahead.
